Good Times - For Brighnasa

First thing's first, left to right: Fetch (front), Tioric, Ban, Kith, Shynnagial, Fiann, Cuuan, Soise and Soothain.

This is a commission that *brighnasa asked me to do for a friend of hers of some characters they own. I got very usefully descriptive biographies, a request to put the fantasy characters in a modern setting to interact, and full reign of everything else ^_^

I think that this drawing makes it painfully obvious that characterization is much more important to me than little details like... oh, say, proper use of perspective and rulers >_> I'm so very lucky that Laura was very forgiving in light of the bigger picture.

This group is a bunch of strong personalities, individuals and loners and it was really interesting trying to concoct a setting and layout that I hoped would stay relatively true to their natures. I tried to observe their bio descriptions, as well, to the point of taking some of it literally (Cuuan is always stealing everyone's food, for instance). Kith is the center of the group, Ban likes to bother Tioric... it was all fun to adapt into a picture.

Though getting that many characters believably on a page was rather hard and I think some of them suffered for it (poor Cuuan is a bit deformed, I think). I'd work on it and put it down and work on it and put it down, and it ended up taking me a month, though the actaul time involved was nowhere near that (10hours? Little more).

Anyway, I am really interested in the characters, myself, and I hope Laura's friend likes it!
